When I feel the most joyless is when it is most essential for me to practice joy, to seek out this Godly abundance. Not to disassociate. Not to demean my own suffering or the realities that have brought me low. But because God calls — compels — us to remember: the things that speak death over us don’t get the last word.

How am I able to live this way? Because I know God is my strength and song.

Sometimes we all need to have space to be sad or angry, or unable to express ourselves. When you have dementia this becomes more difficult to direct... Here is where we can introduce scripture for those who are struggling to communicate. 

We are learning more and more about mental and emotional health, but as a society, we still have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to sitting with people in mental and emotional pain and suffering.

When we step into the pulpit, we hope that the people will hear what we want them to hear, that they might be changed like we have been changed.

In a world that wants to criticize and categorize and commodify everything we do, time and space to create for its own sake is a sacred revolution.
